Sosua is located on the North Coast region of the island! The North Coast has several popular towns including Puerto Plata, Cabarete and Sosua. It is called the Amber Coast because of the prevalence of Amber which is a semi-precious gem.
The North Coast is truly a beautiful Caribbean area as it winds along the Atlantic Ocean. Renting a car and driving from Sosua to Samana is a breathtaking experience. As you drive along the North Coast you’ll see some of the country’s best features! On one side of the road you’ll see lush jungle forests and rolling mountain ranges! On the other side of the road is the Atlantic Ocean with its ethereal blue waters and golden sand beaches.
The North Coast is considered the country’s most versatile playground. There are so many things to do or not to do! Sosua travel involves the option to jump river beds on a mountain bike or test your strength on a kite-board. Or, you can sit on a secluded beach and listen to the sea and read a good book without interruption.
